Actor playing the little prince

Q:Is your current design of the ticket different from the original design?

A:I have developed five pattens of the ticket. I have finished the outline and will color them soon, so the progress is smooth and satisfactory. The current pattern is not very different from my original idea. I retain most of it and then add some new ideas that came to me during the rehearsal. For example, I put blindfolds on all the characters on the ticket to emphasize one important line from The Little Prince: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

Q:Do you think you have got into the state of the little prince?

A:A: I have been trying to relate to the little prince and thinking about what kind of little prince is the best fit for me. Now, I feel that I am in this role. During each rehearsal, I would put on the yellow scarf, and that made me feel that I am the little prince. In this way, I perform more confidently.

Q:Were you interested in drama before? To what extent do you like drama now?

A:I like watching drama productions, such as Aladdin, which I watched when I was a little kid. Now, I watch some Shakespeare plays and I admire those who can act perfectly. I did not like acting very much, but since I participated in the festival, I have developed a new understanding of drama and I feel increasingly fond of it.

Q:In our last interview, you mentioned that your favorite character was rose. What is your favorite character now?

A:Well, I used to like both rose and little fox. But now, in addition to these two, I also like my role: the little prince. Each character has its unique personality, and I will be very happy to act any of them.

Q:You are involved in every step of the preparation for the festival including the original design and implementation. What do you think of this activity?

A:It is a huge challenge for us students because we do the major part and adults just assist us. It is no easy task for both children group and teenager group. Judging from the current progress, it is much better than expected. Everyone is on the same page, and we look forward to the weekly rehearsal.

Q:In your current rehearsal, is there a moment that touches you most? Why?

A:In our rehearsal, the teacher would offer guidance on where we should improve. Actors also gave suggestions to each other to trigger discussions. I like this attitude and atmosphere to pursue perfection.

Q:Have you ever experienced any changes or gained any benefits since you participated in the drama festival?

A:Firstly, I have begun to manage my time better. I was not good at managing my time and always putting things off until the last minute. After I participated in the festival, my mom helped me list my tasks, and I assigned time to them by myself. Gradually, I realized if I did not manage time well, these tasks would be a mess. In the past, I did not have much homework to do, so I did not care about time management. But after I joined the festival, I faced more and more tasks, making me realize the importance of time management. Also, I have better understanding of drama and improved my acting skills. I can not only act with body language, but also with my eyes and gestures. I am so happy about my progress.

Q:If each member on the creative team were invited to say something, what would you say?

A:I like the drama festival so much and I have received a lot of rewards. So, I suggest that everyone come to the drama festival.

Q: In your imagination, what will be the opening day of the drama festival like?

A:The atmosphere on that day should be very lively. We will be both excited and nervous. I believe that the festival will be a success. Even if some small incidents happen, as long as we work as a team, all problems will be solved.
